B&K Agency facilitated the opening of the exhibition “Empty Beds: The Tale of 20,000+ Abducted Ukrainian Children” at the European Parliament

This morning, B&K Agency facilitated the opening of the exhibition “Empty Beds: The Tale of 20,000+ Abducted Ukrainian Children,” an immersive installation embodying the forced deportation of Ukrainian children, at the European Parliament in Brussels.

The installation was brought by a charitable organisation Bird of Light Ukraine, under the patronage of the Vice-President of the European Parliament Pina Picierno, and in cooperation with the Mission of Ukraine to the European Union, the Ombudsman of Ukraine and the Bring Kids Back UA initiative.

Ukraine’s Ambassador Vsevolod Chentsov attended the exhibition opening together with Oleksandr Lazuka, advisor to the Ukrainian Ombudsman in the Kingdom of Belgium, and Andrii Siromakha, a veteran of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a trainee at the European Parliament.

Empty Beds is a hyper-realistic, life-size recreation of a child’s bedroom, designed to place visitors inside the lived reality of thousands of Ukrainian families under occupation. The installation centres on the story of “Artem,” a 13-year-old boy, whose portrait is based on real experiences shared by children who were abducted and later returned.

Previously, the installation was featured at the European Parliament in Luxembourg.
